Miss Tanika began dancing with the Frances Lea Dance Center at the age of 2-1/2. Over the years, her studies have included Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Clogging, Hip-Hop and Tumbling.
As a dedicated student of FLDC, Tanika worked her way up to Teacher's Assistant by the time she was 10 years old. Assisting in classes such as Children's Ballet and Tap, she earned the privilege of teaching her own class at the age of 13.
Dance competition awards include Winner of the 1997 and 1999 "I Love Dance" Regional Competition, and Winner of the Top Soloist Dance Division of the "Stairway to the Stars" Competition. Tanika is an alumni of the University of North Texas, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Elementary Education, and became an elementary school teacher. Tanika is also an award-winning choreographer, creating and instructing dances that have won numerous awards at competitions such as, "I Love Dance", "Stairway to the Stars", "Rainbow Dance", Dance Showcase USA, and many more.
Now in her late 20's, Tanika is still dancing! She enjoys teaching Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Clogging, and Tumbling.
