Kassie began her serious dance training at Stage Door Dance Studio in
Mesquite Texas at the age of two. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern,
lyrical, clogging, pointe, contemporary, musical theatre, and even Irish
step dance. She has been dancing for 14 years. She has taken many master
classes all around the Metroplex from dancers such as Fred Kelley. She Irish
step danced for a consecutive 4 years and made it to the championship level
in competitions. She has been competing in dance competitions for eight years
now. She began dancing with the Irving Ballet nutcracker at the age of five.
Currently attending the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, she will be a member
in the Senior Academy Dance Company for the third year. The Academy Dance
Company has given her opportunities to work with guest choreographers,
attend the National High School Dance Festival in Philadelphia, as well as
performing at the Fine Arts at the Capitol event in Austin, Texas. She has
been choreographing for Betty Buckley award nominated and winning musicals
put on by the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. She has also taken advanced
dance classes and been on the competitive team of The Dance Company for two
years.
This up coming year she will be attending the National High School
Dance Festival for the 2nd time in Miami, Florida and has just finished
performing with the hoof-in tap crew under the direction of Katelyn Tompson
at the National Tap Dance Day. She has also recently auditioned for the Mary
Kay dance group and made it as a 1st alternate at the minimum age of 16.
